Maurice McBride

Maurice McBride was born and raised in northern England and read Engineering at King’s in London. Throughout his career in the construction industry, he also indulged his passions for writing and travelling. Having seen much of the West, his fascination with the East took him to China (including Kashgar), India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Syria, Iran, and Uzbekistan.

In his writing, he believes in providing the reader with memorable characters, an original and occasionally humorous narrative voice, vivid settings and – above all else – story.

He lives on the Hampshire-Berkshire border with his family and a mongrel dog with too much personality.

His books include:

An Angel of Blizzards (aka The Mad Woman of the Mountains)

The Gift of Madame Xebec

Six Days in Kashgar

The Green Mamba

The Imaginary Woman (aka Leonard Carter; Across the Great Divide)

Maurice is represented by Barbara Levy at the Barbara Levy Literary Agency.
